A stronger show of store lambs forward in Borderway, with both demand and trade increasing on the week, a sale average of £112 was achieved and was seen £5-6 pound dearer on the previous week.
Topping the sale went to a pair of Beltex lambs from M/s Donaldson, Ashton selling to £138. Suffolks sold to £130 on numerous occasions from David Mattinson, Cragg Farm, Chris Park, Burblethwaite, and Alister Watson, Oakbank. Beltex lambs topped at £132 from M/s Bell, Lockerbie. M/s Lambert, Penrith sold 29 sweet North Cheviots to £96. M/s Wilson, Wigton sold a pen of 24 Jacob lambs selling to £106.
Many more lambs can be sold here at Borderway with an honest trade being witnessed for genuine store lambs.
