The monthly sale of store lambs were forward this week which included breeding sheep. A stronger entry of 1000 store lambs were forward. A sale average of £126 was achieved with larger lambs meeting a stronger trade. Top price went to a pen of Suffolks from Messrs Shearing, Carlisle selling to £151. Mules topped at £136 from James Black, Newton Stewart, the same home also sold 70 to £122 and 103 to £116. Texels topped at £146 from William Farrer, Carlisle & Dean Butler, Egremont selling 9 to £130. Many more could be sold to advantage.
