Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held there Weekly Sale of Prime Sheep on Tuesday Evening when 2,696 sheep where forward consisting of 2,238 Prime Lambs and 458 Cast Sheep.

Prime lambs

Topping the sale at £230 where a pair of 73kg Suffolk cross lambs (315.1p) from Messrs Lee, Carkin Moor, Richmond.

Topping at 542.9p where a pen of four 42kg Beltex cross lambs from JoJo Andrews, Boscar Flats, York which made £228.

This home also sold a pair of 42kg Beltex cross lambs to £210 (500p), a pen of four 47kg to £206 (438.3p) and a pen of fourteen 42kg at £194 (461.9p).

This home sold 47 lambs to average 447.7p and £192.98 for 43.1kg.

Messrs Fell, Chapel Farm, Keswick topped the Rouge cross lambs at £202 for 39kg at 517.9p, with another pen of three 41kg selling to £194 (473.2p).

Halton Redhouse, Maften, Northumberland sold a pen of four 44kg Beltex to £218 (495.5p), a pen of ten 43kg to £197 (458.1p), a pen of twenty 42kg to £189.50 (451.2p), another pen of twenty 44kg to £193 (438.6p) and a pen of twenty six 44kg to £188 (427.3p).

Messrs Lee, Carkin Moor, Richmond sold a pair of 53kg Beltex cross lambs to £216 (407.5p), a pen of three 42kg to £202 (481p), a pair of 49kg to £196 (400p), a pen of fourteen 45kg to £195 (433.3p) and a pen of three 47kg at £190 (404.3p).

Messrs Wharton & Sons, Keisley Farm, Appleby In Westmorland sold a pen of eighteen 58kg Mule lambs to £182 (313.8p) and another pen of twenty six 53kg to £165.50 (312.3p), this consignment of 44 Mule prime lambs sold to average 55.1kg, £172.25 and 312.9p!
