Borderway Store Cattle Sale

On Wednesday 7^th October Harrison and Hetherington conducted their weekly sale of store cattle.  All classes sharper on the week with 376 head forward.  A plainer show was on offer with a lot of cattle straight off grass.  Topping at £2640 was an outstanding Shorthorn bullock from Messrs Robinson, Gelt Hall.  This home also sold to £2480 and £2360.  Messrs Byers, Cubby Hill sold a pair of Angus bullocks to £2470.  Messrs Dickinson, High House sold a smart Limousin bullock to £2470.  Messrs Robinson also topped the heifers at £2340 for a Shorthorn.  Messrs Grice, Newtown had Limousin heifers to £2320.  Messrs Story, Blackrigg, Longtown had Charolais heifers to £2280 and £2260.  Norman Story, Hill Top had a pair of tremendous Limousin heifers to £2240.
