Lazonby Second Sale of Mule Gimmer Lambs

On Thursday 8^th October, the second Mule Gimmer Sale took place in Lazonby Market. A much-increased catalogue of 5,680 lambs were forward, with the sale average of £174 being achieved (+£34), with running lambs described as the dearest to date.

Before the sale, the show took place, with judge Gary Rylands undertaking the proceedings.

After looking over the pens, the Championship was awarded to M/s Lord, Middle Town Barn, which went on to sell for £270. The second-prize pen from Peter Smith, Parson Shields. Geoff Wharton, Keisley Farm sold their 3^rd prize pen to £235 whilst Peter Smith, Parson Shields, were fourth, selling to £205.

A lack of top tuppers were forward, with strong lambs selling from £190 to £210. Running lambs were simply delightful, with lambs selling between £170 and £185, with the smaller end selling to £140-£160. A great show was forward, with vendors once again delighted with what Lazonby has to offer.
