HALLINGTON MAJOR REDUCTION SALE

WEDNESDAY 14^TH OCTOBER 2026

Leading Prices

The Major Reduction Sale of the adult portion of the Hallington Aberdeen Angus Herd on behalf of Mr Alan Lawson, South Farm, Hallington, Northumberland, met with huge interest, and a packed ringside witnessed the sale of an exceptional run of Spring calving pedigree Aberdeen Angus cows running with outstanding calves, shown in great bloom. Huge credit goes to Alan Lawson for over 20 years of careful breeding to produce such a quality herd of highly productive pedigree cows run on a sound commercial basis.

The sale highlights were numerous, but the top price came late in the day with Lot 72, Hallington Wistaria T565 one of the outstanding senior cows in the herd, by Blelack Duke and out of a Netherallan Peter Pershore daughter, she was sold 3 months in calf to Tonley Eagle for 14,000 Gns to Melanie & Michael Alford to compliment their highly successful Foxhill Angus herd based in Devon.

The Alford's had picked carefully and they had to compete well to secure lot 57A, Hallington Ebolass C909, an outstanding and much fancied April born heifer calf by Hallington Whisky out of a Hallington Prince daughter, the bidding finished at 11,000 Guineas.

At 9000 Gns came Lot 71, Hallington Wistaria Y777 a super young cow running with her 3^rd calf at foot, by Tonley Eagle, and back in calf to Eagle, she was purchased by Mark Runciman, East Mains, Lauder in the heart of the Scottish Borders.

8000 Guineas was the next top call, for Lot 61 Hallington Ebolass T563 another of the highly fancied senior cows, she was a Blelack Prince Consort daughter and was scanned 3 months in calf to Tonley Eagle and was purchased by Mark Wattie for the renowned Tonley herd based at Alford.

Foxhill struck again, this time at 7,500 Gns to secure Lot 59, another of the Ebolass line, this time a fabulous Tonley Kasper daughter carrying her 6^th calf to Hallington Lord Tim.

Donald Rankin entered the fray for Lot 68A, and had to dig deep at 7,000 Gns for another highly fancied April born Hallington Whisky heifer calf out of Hallington Jubilee Erica Z824, she went to join his Crodh Dubh herd on the Isle of Skye.
