Borderway Calf Sale

H+H held their weekly sale of calves.  As is often the case at this time of year, calf prices have come under pressure at many competing markets. Borderway, however, continues to stand apart, delivering an outstanding trade with prices rising by an impressive £55 on the week. The result leaves no doubt that the buzz has truly returned to Borderway.

Leading the day's trade was a tremendous Charolais bull from T&H Robinson, which sold to a top price of £895. Close behind was an Angus bull from Coopon Carse Farms at £885, while a strong British Blue bull from M&M Wilson also featured prominently in an exceptional day's trading.

Bull calves were in exceptional demand throughout the sale, but the standout performers were undoubtedly the Black-and-Whites, with the vast majority comfortably exceeding the £350 mark.

In the heifer section, trade peaked at £860 for a superb British Blue heifer from M&B Sharpe. A run of five quality British Blue heifers from Coopon Carse Farms followed closely behind, selling to £820.

There was no doubt where the place was to sell calves today, with calf prices rising by £55 on the week, ringside confidence was evident from start to finish, as buyers competed strongly for quality stock. Against a backdrop of falling prices elsewhere, Borderway once again demonstrated its ability to attract buyers, generate competition, and deliver results.
