A much fuller ringside of buyers than seen for some time ensured another very strong trade for all well-grown, well-fleshed and quality cattle. The plainer end of the offering proved more difficult to place, with a noticeable lack of condition and quality evident and limited demand for these types at this time of year. Top price steer was a superb Limousin cross from M/s Bowman, Croft House, Penrith, selling to £2,620, while heifers peaked at £2,400 for an Aberdeen Angus cross from M/s Smith, Campingholm, Gretna.”
