The first entry in the Whitebred Shorthorn & Galloway sale ring hit the headlines on Friday at Borderway by taking the top price of the sale selling for 5000gns.
The 2 year old bull, Hottbank Shamrock, consigned by JRF Pattinson & Son, is sired by Blackburn Marshall and is out of the homebred Lucinda family. Shamrock was purchased by Robert McTurk of Barlaes.

In the female section the Reserve Overall Champion Barlaes Royal Heather 15th sold for 850gns. This Blackburn Thumper sired heifer was purchased by Emma Gray from Morpeth, Northumberland.
