On Wednesday 29th August Harrison & Hetherington Limited held their weekly sale of young calves with a smaller show of 195 forward. A mixed show of calves were a similar trade to previous weeks with well reared strong calves good to sell, however younger calves were harder to cash. Top price of £490 was achieved on two occasions both from Messrs Fisher, Smalmstown Farm, Longtown for British Blue bull calves. Strong Black and whites continue to be in demand topping at £260 for a Swedish Red and White from Bays Leap Dairy Farm, Heddon on the wall.
