The annual Carlisle Jacob sale as part of Carlisle’s Rare and Minority Breed day saw a top price of £460 for a shearling ram.
SL Harries’ Hope Diamond sired by Hope Rocky Boy and out of a Yarningale ewe was the ram who achieved this when he was purchased by Barnsley based Cannon Hall Farm Ltd.
Next at £260 was the ram lamb Kinloch Hugo consigned by Mike Munro. This lamb was sired by Blackbrook Fire Balls and out of a homebred dam and he was off to the Isle of Jura when purchased by Messrs Fletcher.
A shearling gimmer from David Sizer’s Laurels flock sold for £210. Sired by Laurels Raven this gimmer was purchased by Messrs Arthur from Lockerbie.
Six animals sold for £200 four shearling gimmers, an aged ram and a shearling ram.
