Charolais bulls sold to 4300gns today at their annual summer sale held at Borderway. This was for W Richardson & Son's Laverock Marksman, sired by Laverock Inkspot and out of Laverock Empress. Marksman was the first bull into the ring but obviously caught the eye of the successful purchasers Messrs Langcake from Cockermouth.
The only other Charolais bull to sell came from local breeder TJ Lawson. This was Mossside Optimus sired by Alsnow Hurricane and out of Millbridge Jem. He was purchased for 2200gns by Messrs Ellwood & Son from Millom.
