St Boswells Suckled Calves

Harrison and Hetherington held their Annual Show and Sale of Charolais and Continental Cross Cattle which were well bid for throughout. Vendors went home delighted with the days trading despite the down turn in the beef trade.  Taking command of the judging was Mr Ian Wainwright, Todd Hall doing an excellent job with awarding his champion to Messrs Dun, Brothershiels with a fabulous Charolais.x Heifer raising £1200 to the judge.

Reserve Champion went to another Heifer from Messrs Richardson, Upper Samieston with a Limousin.x being knocked down at £1120.  This animal also took top pence per kilo on the day at 260.5p per kg .

Topping the Bullock section was a pen of excellent Limousin.x Bullocks at £1130 from Gala Farms, Hollybush. Pence per kilo was topped by an annual consignment from Messrs Anderson, Headshaw, L with a pen of Charolais.x Bullocks at 229p per kg.  Winning both classes of pens of 4 Charolais.x cattle was Messrs Pate, Stobshiel Mains with Bullocks raising £1115 and Heifers £1020
