Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 4^th December Harrison & Hetherington Limited held their weekly sale of calves.  A marvellous entry of 374 calves were forward with a large ringside of buyers ensured all beef calves were in high demand with young continental bulls seeing the biggest lift on the week.  Strong beef heifers continue to look good value when compared to younger calves.  Top price was £470 for a strong shapely British Blue bull from Messrs Fisher, Smalmstown, Longtown.  A large show of black and whites saw the strongest, well bred calves in high demand but strong plainer calves and young calves would be cheaper on the week.
