Harrison & Hetherington Ltd had forward just over 700 head of cattle at their Weekly Wednesday Sale comprising of 498 catalogued store cattle and un-entered weanlings, and 208 calves.
With only one Wednesday sale left at Carlisle before Christmas, call the sales team to enter cattle to take advantage of the very strong demand. The first sale in the New Year will be Wednesday 8th January 2020.
STORE CATTLE – At the weekly sale an entry of 318 store cattle were forward. A packed ring side of buyers all bid frantically to secure cattle resulting in another great sale. A top of £1210 was achieved for an outstanding Limousin x shown by Mr T A Pearson, The Faulds, Caldbeck, Wigton who’s outstanding run of heifers averaged £1173. Bullocks topped at £1185 for a cracking pair of Charolais consigned by H G Graham & Co, Hillhead, Canonbie.

WEANED CATTLE: A good show of 180 weanlings were forward with a large ring side of buyers ensuring a great trade throughout. Messrs Jackson, The Wreay, sold the top priced Angus heifer for £1000 and Messrs Swainson & Son, Moor Park Farm run of cattle topped at £940 for a Blonde x heifer. Messrs Langcake, Isel Old Park sold two 8 month old Charolais bullocks for £850. Messrs Watson & Son, Beech House sold a 10 month old Limousin x bull for £820 and finally Messrs Reid, Kirkburn Farm sold two 7 month old Limousin x bulls for £820.
