Blue Texel In Lamb Show & Sale

Topping the Trade within the Blue Texel Society Show & Sale was Lot 612 a Shearling Gimmer MILLSIDE DJA/18/02039 from David & Jennifer Alexander. Sired by Millside Import 26101-01358 and out of a Jonsland Dan sired Ewe, she sells scanned in lamb with twins to the Worcester 2nd Prize 1500gns ram lamb Lyle’s Django. This sold to Messrs Reid, Banffshire.

Next top call was a 2016 born, aged ewe from Jan Rodenburg, Lot 586 sired by Jonsland Wi-Fi, out of a Turbo Blue Tommy sired ewe. She sells scanned in lamb to Turbo Blue Benefactor who has been awarded an extremely rare Definite Premium Certificate out in Holland. She sold for 1500gns to new breeder Rhys Millichap.

David Alexander sold a further two gimmers for 1350gns. First of these was lot 610 a Sams Yoyo sired gimmer out of homebred ewe who sold in lamb to Lyles Django and was purchased by Messrs MacArthur from Nairn. Following her into the ring was a gimmer sired by a Beili Blues ram who was also in lamb to Django and this one was purchased by Messrs Duncan from Banff.

Also from David and again sired by the Beili Blues ram and in lamb to Django was lot 609 who sold for 1300gns to Messrs Crawford from Peterhead, Aberdeenshire.

Jan Rodenburg’s 2^nd prize winning aged ewe went on to sell for 1300gns, this was lot 590 a Jonsland Wi-Fi daughter who was also in lamb to Turbo Blues Benfactor. The successful purchaser was Messrs Hartley from Nelson, Lancashire.

The Overall Championship in the pre-sale show was won by Stasa Moyes with the 2016 born ewe Kingscaird Apre-Ski who was bred by Peter Kemp. This ewe was sired by Foxhill Yogie and sold in lamb to Caryl’s Blues Captain. She was purchased by Messrs Fleming from Heriot, Midlothian for 1300gns.

Trade was buoyant from start to finish and sheep very easily sold, fantastic to see plenty of new buyers in attendance. Thanks to our Pre Sale Judge Caryl Howell’s (Caryls Flock) and to all staff at Harrison & Hetherington.
