Badger Face Texel Sheep Society In Lamb Sale

The inaugural in-lamb sale at Harrison & Hetherington was a superb success, for a breed within its infancy, the ring had an excellent attendance and all sheep were well sold.

Taking the top price of the day was a Lot 563 shearling ewe from Stuart Wood. This was placed Overall Champion and 1st prize shearling ewe by the Judge, Jack Buckle. She is an import ewe who sold in lamb to a Woodies import Ram, which had notable show success in Holland. She sells for 2800gns to Messrs Millar, Lockerbie.

Next top call was for the 2nd prize shearling ewe from Adrian & Clive Richardson. Lot 560, she is sired by Cleenagh Yobo and sells scanned in lamb to Cleenagh Paddy Power. She sold for 1800gns to Messrs Jones, Gorslas.

At 1500gns was the 1^st prize aged ewe again from Adrian & Clive Richardson, this imported ewe had run with Cleenagh Celebrity Juice and was purchased by Messrs Barclay from Insch, Aberdeenshire.

The first ewe into the ring was lot 539 from Jan Rodenburg, this 2014 born imported ewe had won 4^th prize in her class at the pre-sale show and went on to sell for 1200gns to Messrs Thomas from Llangadog, Carmarthenshire.

The best of the ewe lambs was lot 564, Woodies Audi from Stuart Wood. She has won 1^st prize in her class earlier in the day and sold for 1100gns to Messrs Tay & Partners, Aberdare, Powys.
