On Wednesday 18th December Harrison & Hetherington Limited held their weekly sale of calves. A good entry of 258 calves for the last sale of the year with a plainer show forward. The best quality weaned calves were still in demand. Young calves especially native bred types would be easier on the week. Top price was £405 for a shapely British Blue bull from Messrs Reed, Moss Side House, Newton Arlosh, Wigton. A good show of black and whites were sharper on the week especially strong well grown Friesian types. The next calf sale will be on Wednesday, 8th January 2020.
