Borderway Weekly Store & Weanling Sale

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd had forward just over 664 head of cattle at their final Weekly Wednesday Sale comprising of 296 catalogued store cattle and un-entered weanlings, 258 calves and 110 dairy cows at the Monthly Border and Lakeland Sale.

STORE CATTLE – A much smaller entry of 227 store cattle forward at the final store sale of 2019 which ended on a high note with trade by far the dearest seen for many weeks resulting in a days top of £1335 for the first animal to enter the ring at 10.00 am,  a Limousin cross heifer from Messrs Wigham, Coldshields, Haltwhistle.  Another two from the same home attained £1260 and £1250 respectively.  Charolais from Messrs Telfer, High Park Foot, Carlisle sold to £1160.  The same vendors also sold the top priced steer another Charolais cross receiving £1180.  Simmental crosses to £1130 from Messrs Maughan, Greencarts, Hexham.  The next sale of Store, bulls and weanlings will be conducted on the 8^th January 2020.

WEANED CATTLE: A smaller show of unentered cattle saw a packed ringside of buyers throughout.  Top price of the day at £1000 was for a lovely Black Limousin x Heifer from Ms S Martin and A Maughan of Heatheridge, Humshaugh, Hexham.  All cattle sold very well once again and proves very promising for the New Year.
