Border British Blue Club Autumn Sale

British Blues sold to a top of 4900gns at the Border British Blue Club's 30th Annual Autumn Show & Sale at Borderway Mart, Carlisle on Friday 4th October 2019.

The show was very generously sponsored by McCaskie Agriculture.

Top call came for, Dinmore Nightowl ET, a black & white, 20-month-old son of the Ballygrange Alex and Zwarte II ET VD Wildebee flush.  He was shown by PR & HR Dawes, from Dinmore and was knocked down for 4900gns to Messrs Baillie, Kirkcowan, Newton Stewart.  Nightowl stood 2nd in his class.  He is no stranger to success having won breed champion Hanbury; Male & Reserve Overall Champion Cheshire Show and 1st prize Burwarton Show 2019.

The Male & Supreme Champion Maidenlands Million Dollar ET was next in the price ratings at 4800gns.  Million Dollar a 2-year-old bull was bred and exhibited by Border Club enthusiast Dean Saunders from Tarn Flatt, Marton.  Million Dollar is out of the Manchester Du Bois Remont and Maidenlands Koko Chanel flush.  Signing the cheque was Messrs Thomson, Forgandenny, Perth.  Dean also wins the Border British Blue Club Trophy for the highest price animal owned by a member of the Border Club.

Also hitting the high spots was the Reserve Male & Reserve Overall Champion from Ross & Elaine Pattinson, from Low Row, Brampton.  Top Side Ned ET, a 20-month-old bull by Drift Domino and Lochside Wigtown flush.  Ned found his new home with Messrs Robson & Partners, Lochmaben, Lockerbie at 3,000gns

Judge for the day, Ian McGarva (Abington Herd) put up as his Female Champion & winner of the Wilodge Perpetual Shield for the Best Animal Opposite Sex to the Champion, Goodyhills Nikki, a white September 2018 born daughter by their stock bull Stonebyres Hartley and out of Goodyhills Diamond.  She was bred and exhibited by Neil & Irene Armstrong, from Silloth, Wigton.  Nikki left the ring unsold.
