At Borderway Mart, Carlisle on Monday 4th May Harrison & Hetherington held their weekly sale of breeding sheep.
A quality show of ewes and lambs were forward, with all classes being well bid for.
Top price of the day of £100 was achieved by Messrs Taylor, The Harras, Ainstable with a pen of Texel hoggs.
All classes were easily sold, with older Texel ewes selling to £75 from Messrs Bell, Holmewrangle, Armathwaite.
Leading prices per head:
Hoggs and Lambs: Texel £100, £96 (x2), £87, £86 The Harras, £92 (x2), £91 Dockray Hall, Suffolk £90 The Harras.
Ewes and Lambs: Texel £75, £64, £60.50, £60 Holmewrangle Farm, £71 Bulls Head Farm, Greyfaced £65 Bulls Head Farm, Swaledale £42 Stoneknowe Farm.
Shearlings and Lambs: Greyfaced £65 Dockray Hall.
The next sale on Monday 11th May, will include the Annual sale of Ewes with Lambs at foot. Entries are now invited for cataloguing .
