Another large show of store sheep was forward at Borderway on Monday and proved to be very good to sell with trade being up £4-£5 on the year. Top price of the day was paid for a Beltex x from Messrs Richardson, Whitehead Brow, Mealsgate selling to £128. Messrs Wood, Well Head Farm sold a tremendous run of lambs at £123, £121 and £108. All classes of sheep proved dearer on the week. Many more lambs are required on a weekly basis to fulfil purchasers’ requirements.
