Middleton In Teesdale November Sale of Suckled Calves

On Tuesday 10^th November Harrison & Hetherington Ltd held its annual November sale of suckler calves at Middleton-In-Teesdale Market.

A good show of 563 were met again with a fantastic trade throughout.  Due to the current Covid restrictions no show took place this year but better show types were keenly bid for.  Topping the sale was a superb 7 month old British Blue heifer from D J Mallon, Pallet Crag selling for £2300 to D Jarman, Workington.  Limousin heifers topped at £1520 for a showy heifer selling to Mr Grainger, Wigton.  Steers topped at £1190 for a strong 10 month old Limousin steer from MB & HD Fletcher, Friar House Farm, Barnard Castle.  British Blue steers topped at £1090 from JE & AJ Mitchell, Parrick House.  Strong cow makers were once again in strong demand with heifers regularly selling in excess of £1300.  Highlights include a British Blue from Messrs White selling for £1500.  Messrs Thompson, Allotment Farm, T W Hutchinson, Bail Hill and S & RE Williamson, Littleburn all selling 7-8 month Limousin heifers for £1400.  A strong trade was had throughout with many vendors going away more than satisfied with the days trading.  A big thank you to all customers and vendors for your continued support and co-operation during the current times.
