Kirkby Stephen Store Cattle Sale

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their Christmas sale of Store Cattle.

Topping the sale at £1325 was a 20 month old Blonde steer from Messrs Whitehead, Thwaite Farm, Richmond.

£1300 was achieved on another two occasions for a 25 month old Limousin steer and a 19 month old British Blue cross steer also both consigned by Messrs Whitehead, Richmond.

Messrs Bousfield, Cranberry, Mallerstang sold a 19 month old Limousin cross steer to make £1275.

Messrs Smithson, Bloan Farm, Brough Sowerby sold a 17 month old Limousin cross steer to make £1235.

Messrs Ketley, Picketts Farm, Colchester made the journey north with their consignment of 50 Store Cattle ad topped the heifer section at £1185 for a 15 month old British Blue cross, who also sold 18 month old Limousin cross heifers to make £1125.

Black & White steers topped at £945 for a pen of 5 Holstein from Messrs Chippendale, Wharton Hall, Kirkby Stephen.

A wonderful turnout of buyers for all classes of store cattle were present which ensured all types were sold to fantastic premiums here at Kirkby Stephen.
