Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 16th December Harrison & Hetherington held its weekly sale of calves with an entry of 392 forward.  A great show was presented which saw all classes of calves keenly bid for with British Blue and Limousin heifers selling to a premium.  Topping the sale was a pair of Limousin heifers from J J Brough, Clappers Farm, Wigton selling for a wonderful price of £630.  Messrs Bell, Mossband sold a lovely Limousin heifer for £510.  British Blue heifers topped at £435 from Skirwith Hall Farms, Penrith.  Bulls topped at £480 three times for a British Blue bulls firstly from  M & JA Johnston, Carlisle, Turnbull Farming, Penrith and TD Irving, Wigton.  Aberdeen Angus bull calves topped at £380 from Fauld Farm Ltd, Longtown.  Dairy calves topped at £290 from T D Irving, Wigton for a Holstein Friesian.  A reminder to all customers our next sale will be held on Monday 28^th December.
