Reduction Sale of the Hackney Blue Texel Flock

The highly anticipated Hackney Reduction Sale did not disappoint. The quality of stock forward was a real credit to Paul & Christine Tippetts and prices definitely reflected this.

Aged Ewes took centre stage achieving 6500gns twice, firstly for lot 335 HACKNEY CHARIMATIC sired by Hackney X-Factor out of a Turbo Blue (Import) 08441-98069 who had sold prior at the same sale (lot 321 sold 2600gns), she sells in lamb to Turbo Blues DB9 and heads to join Henry Jewitt’s Sunnybank Flock.

Also selling at 6500gns was aged ewe lot 336, HACKNEY CHARISMA full sister to the above, also scanned in lamb to Turbo Blues DB9, she also sells to Henry Jewitt who reinvested heavily back into the breed after a successful sale day himself.

Other aged ewes selling worth noting were lot 330 4500gns HACKNEY AM YER GIRL a Beili Blues Peter (Import) daughter out of Whatmore Vaneer, also in lamb to Turbo Blues DB9, she was secured by Robert Graham, Stirling.

Lot 326 HACKNEY YEAH YEAH YEAH a Whatmore Wasp Daughter again out of Whatmore Vaneer, in lamb to Turbo Blues DB9, sells 4200gns she also heads home in Henry Jewitt’s spacious trailer.

The Brisbane Family purchasing the top three priced Shearling Ewes which peaked at 5200gns for lot 341 HACKNEY DISCO sired by Tap O Noth Cassanova out of Hackney Yum Yum, in lamb to Turbo Blues DB9. They then went on to purchase lot 345 HACKNEY DELIA for 4200gns sired by Whatmore Walnut and again out of Hackney Yum Yum, also in lamb to Turbo Blues DB9.

HACKNEY DARCY lot 340 also heads to the Brisbane Family’s Auchmantle Flock, sired by Farm Mill Blues Cannon and out of Hackney Yikes, sells for 4000gns.

Ewe Lambs topped at 3000gns for lot 363 HACKNEY EMERALD a natural born Hackney X-Factor Daughter out of Turbo Blues (Import) 26044-04633 (lot 324 – 1800gns) headed home with J & G Denning, Somerset.

Ewe Lamb 365 HACKNEY ELSIE sold to Matthew Burleighs Matts Flock for 2800gns, Elise is out of Hackney Classy (ET) and is by the 5200gns Beili Blues Dragon.
