Blue Texel Festive Fireworks In Lamb Sale

Borderway, Rosehill, Carlisle, CA1 2RS

The Society In-Lamb Sale certainly went off with a Bang this year! This was only the fourth Society in-lamb sale to be held at Borderway Mart, with the largest ever Blue Texel In-Lamb entry to date. The sale was extremely well supported with buyers and vendors in attendance from all over the UK, and an exceptional amount of people using the online bidding system.

Trade was exceptionally buoyant from start to finish with a superb standard of sheep throughout, many new purchasers investing into the breed and other potential purchasers going home disappointed with empty trailers.

Ewe Lambs were very much ‘the leading ladies’ for the sale and the demand for young genetics ensured these topped the trade.

Top price was achieved once again for notable breeders Steve & Sara Gibbons from the Whatmore Flock, selling lot 269 WHATMORE EPIC, a stylish ewe lamb with a depth of pedigree to match, she is sired by Whatmore Bentley and out of Whatmore Bumble B, she sells for 6500gns to breed enthusiast Henry Jewitt.
