Borderway Weekly Sale of Calves

On Wednesday 7^th July Harrison & Hetherington Limited held their weekly sale young calves with  a large show of 360 head forward.  With a good attendance of buyers brought more competition to the table with all classes being dearer on the week.  Topping the bull section was a thumper of a British Blue from Messrs Fisher, Smalmstown coming to a  magnificent £650.  Angus bulls topped at £600 again from Messrs Fisher.  £550 was achieved by Messrs Saunders, Wigtown Road for a cracking Limousin.   £295 was the top price in the British Friesian section for a young strong calf from Mr R Black, Craighouse.  Heifers topped at £520 for a tremendous Limousin  from D Kennedy & Son, Chapelcroft.  Messrs Martin,  Tempest Tower sold a British Blue at £450.  First time Calf vendors  Mr Robert Gemmell, Brownfield Farm, Dumfries topped with his Angus at £430.  More calves are required on a weekly basis for all classes,
