Kirkby Stephen OTM & Cast Cows

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their sale of Cast & OTM Cattle on Monday when 35 were forward.

Topping the sale at £1896.20 was a 760kg British Blue cow which made 249.5p/kg consigned by Messrs Pedley, Oaktree Farm, Carnforth and purchased by J Birkbeck for JA Jewitt, Spennymoor.

Dairy cows sold to £1275.75 for a nine year old Friesian which weighed 810kg and made 157.5p/kg from Messrs Hodgson, Soulby Grange, Soulby which was bought by J Birkbeck.

Friesian cows also made 163.5p/kg for a seven year old cow weighing 770kg and totalling £1258.95 also from Soulby Grange, and bought by J Birkbeck.

The cow trade just keeps getting stronger with one of the dearest trades witnessed once again.

Continental cross cows averaged 167.50p/kg and £1105.68

Dairy cross cows averaged 136.12p/kg and £905.54

Many more numbers of all classes of cows, OTM & Clean cattle are wanted and can be sold to great premiums at the present time here at Kirkby Stephen.
