Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 14th July Harrison & Hetherington Limited held their weekly sale young calves with a smaller show of 182 forward mainly due to Vendors making silage and visiting the  Yorkshire Show.  Although numbers were less a quality show was on offer to a full ringside of buyers ensuring all classes maintained recent high rates.

Topping the sale was a Limousin bull calf from Messrs Wilson, Broomberry selling for £585.  This home had a mixture of Beef Shorthorn, Limousins and Charolais which levelled to average at £470.  Dairy bred calves were in great demand with less numbers being present.  Topping the section was a Montbelairde bull calf from Messrs Beaty, Stonewalls selling for £350.  Black and whites topped at £335 from Messrs Little, North Greenhill. 

More calves are required on a weekly basis for all classes.
