On Monday 19th July Harrison & Hetherington held their opening sale of Store lambs.

STORE SHEEP: The opening sale had a smaller than anticipated entry forward, however demand exceeded pre sale predictions. With a large quantity of running lambs, the overall sale levelled at a respectable £86.

Top price of the day was attained twice at £119, firstly for a pen of 5 Texel crosses from Messrs Mallinson, Rack Beck, followed by a pen of 10 Beltex  crosses from Messrs Walton, Goodie Hill.

All breeds and sizes are well sought after, and with stronger lambs exceeding £100 regularly, Vendors are urged to take advantage of the current trade.   

Leading prices per head: Texel £119, £106 Rack Beck, £116, £112, £104, £99 Long Park, £100, £98 (x2) Pallet Hill Farm, £88, £83 Field Garth, Beltex £119 Goodie Hill Farm, £105, £104 Long Park, Suffolk £100, £76 High Drum, Halfbred £88.50 Banks Head Farm, Hampshire £86 Penny Hill Park, Mule £78, £71 Field Garth, £75, £74 High Drum.

More batches of store lambs of all classes are required both in the ring and privately.
