Lockerbie Store Cattle Sale

On Tuesday 20th July Harrison & Hetherington held its fortnightly sale of store cattle at Lockerbie Auction Mart. A small summer show met with a sumptuous trade. The good weather didn’t hold the buyers back and store cattle prices continue to rise.

10-month-old bullocks sold up to £1050 for a Limousin from Messrs Common, Crossdykes. The same home also had bullocks at £950 and £920. Crossdykes also topped the price per kilo at 258.6ppk for good pure Limousin bullocks. Aberdeen Angus heifers sold up to £890 from Messrs Scott, Copewood and Shorthorn heifers up to £835 from Messrs McGregor, The Dirrops.

The next sale at Lockerbie is in two weeks’ time on the 3rd August. Increased entries already taking advantage of the high demand. Please advise entries to the Auctioneers.
