Harrison & Hetherington had an entry of 695 cattle at their weekly sale comprising of a catalogued entry of 326 Store Cattle, 122 Un-entered store bulls and weanlings and 247 Calves
STORE CATTLE – A great entry of 326 stores with the trade on fire and the dearest trade ever seen at Borderway with three selling over £1700, 10 over £1600 and 24 selling for £1500 or more. Messrs Barnes, Hutton Roof run of Limousin x bullocks topped at £1760, £1680 and £1650. Mr Tim Barron, Maunby House, Thirsk run of outstanding cattle topped at £1740 and £1630 for Charolais x bullocks and £1620 for a Limousin x bullock. Messrs Beattie, Ratlinggate Farm run of cattle topped at £1720 and £1610 for a Limousin bullocks and £1670 for a Limousin x heifer. Messrs Stamper & Son, Rose Farm run of cattle topped at £1680 for a British Blue bullock and £1640 for a Charolais Heifer. Messrs Johnstone, Westray Farm sold a Limousin x bullock for £1640. Messrs Wilson, Blackrigg Farm, sold a Limousin x bullock for £1610.

WEANED CATTLE : At the weekly sale of weanlings cattle looked dearer on the week helped by the rain starting to fall for grass growth and a strong finishing trade. Bulls topped at £1320 for a Limousin from Messrs Henshall, Sarkshields. Messrs Pattinson, Bonshawside had a pair of Limousin bulls at £1305. Beef Shorthorn bulls up to £1250 from Mr J Scott, Hill Top. British Blue bulls also up to £1250 from Messrs Pattinson, Kinkry Hill Farm. Messrs Gardner, The Glebelands also had British Blue bulls up to £1140, £970 for 4 and £960. Steers sold to £1080 for a Limousin from Messrs Paterson, Low Three Mark, British Blue bullocks to £1060 from Uskstar Limited, Oakghyll Farm, Brampton. Messrs Ivinson Cooper House Farm topped the heifers for a British Blue at £1105.
