Kirkby Stephen OTM & Cast Cows

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their sale of Cast & OTM Cattle on Monday.

Topping the sale at £1934.01 was a nine year old 1102kg British Blue cast bull which made 175.5p/kg consigned by Messrs Rukin, Park Lodge, Keld which sold to Owain Llyr, Ruthin.

Topping at 201.5p/kg was a 661kg British Blue cross cow which totalled £1331.92 from Messrs Birkbeck, Castle Hill, Soulby.

Dairy cows topped at £1150.88 for a seven year old Holstein Friesian cow which weighed 837kg and made 137.5p/kg from Messrs Heron, Eastfield Farm, Warcop.

Also topping the dairy section at 162.5p/kg was a Friesian over thirty month from Messrs Chappelhow, Beckstone, Newbiggin on Lune.

A Aberdeen Angus cast bull weighing 896kg sold for 157.5p/kg and £1411.20 from Messrs Heron, Eastfield Farm.

Another wonderful overall sale average of 140.33p/kg was achieved and many more can be sold well every fortnight here at Kirkby Stephen.
