Lazonby Second Sale of Store Lambs

On Thursday 19^th August at Lazonby Mart, Harrison & Hetherington held their second sale of store lambs, whereby a total of 1560 were forward.

A wonderful show of sheep were presented to an ever growing ringside of buyers. A total average of £80.68 (up £14.50 on the year) was achieved with the majority of entries being Mules.

Topping the sale were a pair of Blue Texel lambs from TD & S Watson, Beech House selling to £126.

Wether Texel lambs topped at £106 from Messrs Faulder, Ewan Close.

Mule Lambs saw the biggest rise with all classes being £7-8 up, averaging at £75 per head on the previous sale. Topping the Mules were a tremendous pen of 9 from young Mule enthusiast, Joshua Wade, Ewan Close selling to £84.50.

Sale highlights include Messrs Wood, Moffat Cottage. Selling 42 Mule wether lambs to £81 also Messrs Edmondson, Manesty Farm selling 21 for the same price.

Suffolk’s sold to a premium, with a real pen of from Messrs Pickthall, The Mains with a pen of 15 for £93 per life.

A wonderful show was presented ensuring Lazonby is the place to sell store lambs in the Eden Valley.
