Kirkby Stephen Store Lamb Sale

Harrison & Hetherington Ltd, Kirkby Stephen Mart held their sale of Store lambs on Tuesday when 875 were on offer.

Topping at £96.50 were a pen of Texel cross lambs from Messrs Thexton, Mallerstang.

Messrs Cockburn, South House, Soulby sold a pen of lambs to make £90.

A pen of 55 Blackfaced lambs filled the sale ring with this pen of fantastic lambs selling to make £70.

A pen of 10 Suffolk cross lambs sold to make £84.50 from Messrs Dickinson, High Wood End, Tebay.

All classes and breed of store lambs were in extreme demand and were said to be one of the dearest trades seen of late.

A full ringside of buyers were out in force, many going away empty handed and more lambs could be sold well every fortnight here at Kirkby Stephen.
