Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 26th February Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of Calves.  An increased show of 450 calves continued to sell to extreme rates.  A mixed show was forward with more grass system calves

The sale topped at £820 for a 3 month old Blue bull from AJ & JA McKie, Wedholme Hill.  They also sold another at £795 and a pair at £765.  G L Armstrong & Son, Brownrigg Hall sold a 3 month Blue bulls to £740.  Angus sold to £715 for a pair from McNabney Bros, Barsalloch.  C Horsley Ltd topped the Limousin bulls at £705 for a 3 month old.  The same home also topped the Herefords at £700.

Heifers sold to £680 for a 3 month old Angus from RH & J Irving, Meinbank.  AJ & JA McKie, Wedholme Hill sold Blue heifers to £635 and £615.  Messrs Greenup, Crosshill sold a pair of 3 month Blues to £615.  Bromfield Farms sold a 2 month blue heifer to £605.  JB Capstick & Sons sold a 2 month Limousin heifer to £570.  Charolais heifers topped at £500 for a 2 month from J Herdman, Newtown Farm.

Black and white bulls sold to £610 from HW Moore, Brayshaw.  McNabney Bros sold to £460 for a Holstein.  MG & S Harper sold a 2 month Holstein to £400.  I & GM Blamire, Mid Whinnow sold a 2 month old Friesian to £350.
