On Wednesday 30th April Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of 310 calves.  A smaller show continued to sell to extreme rates exceeding £1000 once again.

The sale topped at £1040 for two tremendous 3 month Blue bull calves from Ellaway Ltd, Elephant Farm.  A sale highlight was a fantastic 1 month old Blue bull from MH & AR Robinson, Holmescales, Kendal selling to £940.  AW & I Osborne, Cow Lane, Wigton sold Blue bulls to £990 and £970.  Charolais sold to £960 for a 2 month old from CJ & VM Gillespie, High Ploughlands. BF Farm Ltd, Englishtown sold a 2 month blue to £900.  Angus bulls sold to £790 from R & M Harvey, Nether Keir, Dumfries.

Heifers topped at £810 for a 2 month Blue from Graham Farms Ltd, Greenrigg, Wigton.  BF Farm Ltd, Englishtown sold two 2 month Angus heifers to £780.   R & M Harvey, Nether Keir sold 3 month Blue heifers to £780.  Graham Farms Ltd, Greenrigg sold 2 month Blue heifers to £770.  CJ & VM Gillespie, High Ploughlands sold Charolais heifers to £750 for 2 months.  MH & AR Robinson, Holmescales sold a 1 month Blue to £730.

Black and whites sold to £650 from Ellaway Farm Ltd, Elephant Farm.  BF Farm Ltd, Englishtown sold a Holstein to £540.  Ellaway Farm Ltd also sold 3 to £520.  Wilsons of Woodside sold a 2 month Holstein to £430.
