Borderway Calf Sale

On Wednesday 14^th May Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly sale of calves.  Today was the Annual May Show and the sale was ably judged by David Albutt.  Champion was awarded to M & M Maxwell, North Doddington, Wooler for a tremendous 3 month Limousin bull calf.  It topped the sale at £960.  Reserve Champion was awarded to the same home for a Blue heifer also making £960. 

Messrs Fisher, The Glebe donated a Blue bull calf to the Charities My Names Doddie and the MND Association.  It sold for £600 to Mr Darrin Shuttleworth who then kindly put it back up for sale making £440 to A Ross.

A McCornick & Co, Barnbackle, Dumfries sold a 2 month Charolais bull calf to £950.  Turnbull Farming, Penrith sold a 2 month Blue bull to £900.  Messrs Vance, Portyerrock, Newton Stewart sold Blue bulls to £890.  Angus bulls sold to £895 from R J Raven, Crookdyke, Wigton.  KA& PJ Woodman sold a 2 monht Blue bull to £880.

A McCornick, Barnbackle sold a 2 month Charolais heifer to £840.  Bluestone Farming, Duns sold a pair of Blue heifers to £780.  Ling Dairies sold a pair of Angus to £745.  Messrs Maxwell sold more Blue heifers to £830, £800, £790 and £780.
